4EVRGRN: Hey, AH! Tell us a little about yourselves.

AH: Hi, my name is Andy Hyppa (pronounced Hippa) & I’ve gone by A-Hyp (hip) for a decade or so now, & I host the LIKEITORNOT podcast, which you can stream anywhere you listen to podcasts. I’m a Tacoma born and raised father of two and am happily engaged to my beautiful fiancé Chatlynn. I’m the middle of three boys, I love hoop, art, music and the way they all intersect. You can find me weekly down at Post Office Studios in downtown Tacoma’s historic old Post Office building, recording new episodes for my podcast. I love to smoke & hoop (basketball was my first love) too, I would love to shout out Mary Mart, Local Roots Tacoma, Emerald Leaves & Diamond Greens for providing the best of the best for me to smoke on including but not limited to Tranquil Forest, Hella Loud, Lucky Lou’s, Lifted, Fireline and of course Pot of Gold outta Tacoma. 

What should anyone who visits the PNW see or do?

AH: Go to a Mariners game. Go to Pike Place & walk around Broadway and grab Dick’s burgers while you’re there. Drive 35 mins south to Tacoma & go to Frisko Freeze & then just go driving & smoking in the deep north end. 

What’s something Tacoma is known for that you disagree with?

AH: Gangs, The Tacoma Aroma & the fact we are Seattle’s little brother. That’s Olympia! 

Favorite podcast topic?

AH: True Crime Garage which is a true crime podcast & Powerful Truth Angels, are two podcast I listen to all the time so, I’d say True Crime for styles of podcasts. But Chappelle’s podcast & NORE’s Drink Champs are up there too, along with Desuz & Mero. 

What’s something people outside the PNW would be surprised to know about it?

AH: I think people would be surprised to see that we really have LOTS & LOTS of greenery, scenically. Plus we have lots & lots of good weed. Which they shouldn’t be surprised about haha. 

Best meal in the PNW?

AH: If we taking Pizza I’d go SLICE BOX in SODO or CAMP COLVOS off the S.21st ramp in Downtown Tacoma’s Brewery Blocks. Burger wise Frisko of course or Burger Seoul. But best meal? Damn..I’d say the Niman Ranch NY steak from Primo Grill in the heart of the 6th Ave business district. It came with this cheesy sage gratin & roasted Brussels I can almost smell this meal if I close my eyes! I eat my steak medium-in case you were wondering. Pink with no blood gang baby let’s eat! Also, Over The Moon Cafe in Opera Alley (Tacoma) the rib-eye there was to die for.

Favorite place to escape in the PNW?

AH:The Bacon Mansion or The Chevy Chase beach cabins..or a bed and breakfast in Tacoma’s Old Town/Stadium district if your an outta towner.

Best PNW Brewery?

AH:Pfriem, Fort George, Métier, Old Schoolhouse, Great Notion, e9, Sluggo, and Camp Colvos.
