Aracely Figueroa

For the 129th week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on another influential individual from the PNW. Aracely Figueroa is a crochet artist from Puerto Rico now living in the PNW.

4EVRGRN: Hey, AF! Tell us a little about yourselves.

AF: My Name is Aracely Figueroa, Born and raised in Puerto Rico. I'm a mother of one daughter. In 2009 I moved to Washington seeking new opportunities and I fell in love with the PNW. I currently work as a Medical Coder for Primary Care. I also used to work as a Professional Chef. I still love to cook. I learned how to crochet when I was around 10-12 years old.

What’s your favorite item you've made so far?

AF: Uff this is a difficult question; I think it will be the Fedoras.

How does the PNW inspire your designs?

AF: I always try to get inspired from the PNW nature. I use warm colors, and all based on the seasons.

What makes crochet unique to you?

AF: I'm a crafty person, but with Crochet you can make so many things and more wearable items for the wintertime.

Where can people buy your creations?

AF: I have an Etsy Shop, you can find me as AracelysCrochet or Check My Instagram @aracelyscrochet1

What is something someone visiting the PNW should do or see?

AF: I love hiking during the springtime, So I will recommend going to any trail around Mt Rainier. My favorite one is Naches Peak Loop. Just beautiful.

Favorite meal in the PNW?

AF: There are so many places to go and have a good meal. But during the summer I love to eat the Fish and Chips from the Daily Catch at Wildfin.

Favorite local product?

AF: I'll have to say Komadre Kombucha & Ice Cream Social. I love them!
