4EVRGRN: Hey, CR! Tell us a little about yourselves.

CR: Cleaner Solutions WA, LLC is a proudly veteran and family-owned and operated business located in Olympia, Washington. We proudly service all of Olympia and the surrounding areas, including all of Thurston and Pierce Counties. We work with residential and commercial customers and we’re your exterior cleaning solution!

What services do you offer? 

CR: Roof Cleaning - Moss removal/treatment (Soft wash, not pressure washing roofs)

Gutter Cleaning - Debris removal/downspout flush

Gutter Brightening - Removal of dirt/algae from the face of gutters

Siding Cleaning - Removal of organic growth from the siding of homes

Pressure Washing - Driveways, sidewalks, concrete patios, retaining walls, (some) pavers.

Graffiti Removal - Currently only removing from hard, porous surfaces such as brick and concrete.

Solar Panel Cleaning - Using De-Ionized water filtration system for spot free cleaning of solar panels.

What areas do you services? 

CR: All of Thurston County, most of Pierce County, and on special occasions will travel beyond.

Why is gutter and roof cleaning so important for those living in the PNW?

CR: Organic growth on your roof is more than just unsightly, it is also one of the largest liabilities to your homeowners insurance. The presence of excessive moss can and will be grounds for most insurance companies to deny coverage on new policies, or renewing/updating existing policies. Gutters that have poor drainage, will damage both the facia boards they are hung on, or the truss that it's nailed to....and likely both. Similar to roof damage, the cost of repair for those items is significantly higher than routine maintenance. 

You have to have some wild cleaning stories, what’s been the most memorable?

CR: By far my best experience has been with the Washington State Soldiers Home in Orting. A home for disabled Veterans, I donate my time and equipment to clean their entire campus. Being a 20+ year retired Army Veteran myself, it's the best way I can maximize my desire to give back to those who came before me, utilizing the tools of the trade I have chosen after service. 

Favorite place in the PNW to unwind on a day off?

CR: Honestly, my back yard. Kick up the grill, a cold beverage and some Def Leppard and this dude is 100% satisfied. 

What are some unique exterior cleaning needs for life in the PNW?

CR: The moss growth is never ending, and the pollen....holy cow the pollen. Homes that are in valleys, such as Orting, suffer a lot from black stains on the roof, which is actually a bacterial colony called Gloeocapsa-Magma. Getting ahead of , or at bare minimum staying current with, these issues will maximize your building materials and ensure you're not prematurely spending tens of thousands on a new roof or mold remediation of the attic space in your home. 

Favorite local product?

CR: Sadly, there are no local products that support my line of work. Thankfully, I have a plan to fix that. In the near future, my wife and I plan on creating a cleaning product line that specifically targets the most commonly occurring types of organic growth here in the PNW. We will be trying to keep it as 'green' as possible, while still providing clients the absolute best outcome of service....as often those two things do not always go hand in hand.
