CC: Creative Soulutions LLC is a Tacoma, WA based photographer with 11 years of portrait experience and 3 years of product photography experience. Favorite place for photoshoots in the PNW?

CC: Quite literally, anywhere. I love challenging myself to get creative in various places and spaces. I know this is really broad but I most love to photograph people in their spaces being their own kind of creative. So, if it's a family just doing they're day-to-day, a soap maker creating artisan soaps from scratch, a chef giving their heart and soul to your belly, or a hiking guide showing the way through the PNW, I wanna be there to capture them in their element.

What is the best part of photography in the PNW?

CC: Collaboration is my favorite thing about photography in general, but we have such amazing people in the PNW and the outdoors here is so beautiful...the 2 combined? Chef's kiss! Collaboration with amazing people gives me a chance to hear what my clients want and transform what's in their head into something everyone can see. I've made connections with other Filipina creatives which feeds my need for connection to my culture, and I've gotten to learn so much about what other entrepreneurs do in our community. It's a special honor to meet the people behind the brands.

Favorite subjects to photograph?

CC: This is a tough one! I transitioned from 12 years as a portrait photographer to a brand/lifestyle and product photographer over the last 3 years. My current genre is my current favorite... check back with me in 5 years; that may change!

Favorite local product?

CC: Soaps from Skybox Skincare. Not only does the owner, Marika, really know her stuff, but she also grows (or milks her goats) for all the organic goodness that goes into her soaps. She's worked at making her products and packaging environmentally friendly and, frankly, my skin has never felt better.

Best meal in the PNW?

CC: Malai kafta, garlic naan, basmati rice, and vegetarian samosas with chutney from Gateway to India on 6th Ave. Or if you can, catch them at the Farmers Market.

Favorite PNW artist?

CC: Swinomish/Tulalip photographer, Matika Wilbur. Her work has inspired me to create a series based on my own culture. I haven't started it yet, but hopefully soon!

One place everyone who visits the PNW must see?

CC: Mt. Rainier. It's special to me for a number of reasons, one being, before my mom passed from breast cancer, on her bad days, she would say she's gonna tell it to the mountain. On a sunny day, when the light kisses it just right turning it gold, I think fondly of my mom and how it was her favorite place to be. It's monumental, majestic, and very much a solid representation of WA.
