Louis Davis Jr.

For the 61st week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on another influential individual from the PNW. He is an athlete, entrepreneur, and elite trainer, Louis Davis Jr. of OnSight253Fitness!

4EVRGRN: Hey, LD! Tell us a little about yourself.

LD: I’m from Tacoma WA! I’m into spending time with my family eating and playing dominoes! I was born and raised in Tacoma with my mom Kim, brothers, and sisters Naia Lindsey and Kenneth! What I about enjoyed about going up in the PNW is the weather! The summer is nice, but I also enjoy when the rain comes, and I get to wear sweats and a hoody and an occasional snowstorm.

Here’s how louis answered our 7 questions:

4EG: What inspired you to open OnSight253 Fitness?

LD: My inspiration for OnSight253Fitness came from growing up in Tacoma. Sports/fitness & music has always been a part of my life growing up and I wanted to create a space where we could blend all the above. I feel like if you can improve your body mentally & physically all while enjoying the ambiance of good music and energy in the room you will leave everyday feeling great about yourself.

4EG: What's the best part about owning a business in the PNW?

LD: The best part about owning a business in the PNW is the diversity! There is so many different businesses that come from different cultures and backgrounds that have their own unique style on how they operate, and I feel like that’s what separates the PNW from the rest of the country!

4EG: Do the season changes in the PNW interfere with your business?

LD: The seasons don’t affect us too much! Thankfully we have the ability to close the doors at the gym and turn the heat in when the rain & snow comes! During the summertime we like to keep the doors open and enjoy the sun while we can!

4EG: What’s the one thing anyone who visits must see or do?

LD: Depending on what part of the state you are in Its so much to do it’s hard to say. I guess I’d say nothing beats the atmosphere & energy at a Seahawks game. I’ve been lucky to go to several different NFL games and stadiums across the country but the 12s make that experience memorable!

4EG: Wildest PNW experience?

LD: This is a good one. I would have to say when I was in middle school, I was spending time with family in Sequim, WA. My uncle has a pond and it was completely frozen over in January or so we though. I convinced my brothers and friends to walk out to the middle and before you know it the ice broke and everybody was under water Swimming to save themselves! I’ll never try that again!

4EG: Best local product?

LD: Best local product is a restaurant called Melon Seed Deli in Tacoma! It’s the best sandwiches/salads & froyo you will ever have!

4EG: What is Tacoma Kidz?

LD: Myself and my cousin/business partner Desmond Trufant started the Non-Profit “Tacoma KidZ”. Thru the gym we have been able to give back to the PNW & those who may be a little less fortunate than others. We’ve done back to school backpack give always / Turkey drives on Thanksgiving/ Christmas shopping Sprees / free community workouts & football camps. It’s no better feeling than giving back to Tacoma & the PNW!
