Michelle Cordsen
For the 62nd week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on another influential individual from the PNW. Meet Michelle Cordsen of One Life Health and Vitatlity. Michelle is a lifestyle coach who helps clients achieve their best health and feel great to live a high-quality life!
4EVRGRN: Hey, MC! Tell us a little about yourself
MC: I'm Michelle. I was born and raised in Washington State and when I met my husband, I told him he better like it here because "I'm not leaving." We have two kiddos, girl 5, boy 3 and they light up our world. I am a Vitality Coach based in Washington State and I partner with people to live healthy, feel better and be free of self-doubt, guilt, and shame so they can create the VITAL life they crave. I do this remotely and usually meet with clients via ZOOM once per week for 3-6 months to help figure out what old stories need to be replaced, what habits are in the way and what realizations need to be had to live his or her life full of Vitality. We have break downs and break throughs and everything in between and I am so grateful to be able to use my gifts for this purpose in order to help others access their own. Everything is connected...sometimes we just need help connecting the dots.
1) What is the best part of health/fitness in the PNW?
MC: The best part of health/fitness in the PNW is, of course, the absolutely stunning landscape available to explore! From hiking, trail riding or running, snowboarding, zip lining and snow shoeing, to kayaking, white water rafting, fishing, boating...even walking along the shores of the Puget Sound or enjoying the fresh, clean air at one of the many lakes or rivers we are blessed with...there is always something to do or see.
2) Where is your favorite place to escape in the PNW?
MC: My favorite escape in the PNW is, by far, renting a cabin up at Mt. Rainier. Connecting to the trees, listening to the quiet, enjoying stillness...it's magical.
3) Best meal in the PNW?
MC: The best meal in the PNW...hmmm...there are SO MANY! I would have to say that my absolute favorite right now is literally any taco from Red Star in Tacoma, WA. What can I say, I'm easy?
4) How do PNW seasonal changes impact your clients?
MC: Luckily the weather doesn't impact my connection to my clients much. The emotional aspect of rain/lack of sun can show up as seasonal depression at times, usually treatable with the right nutrition and exercise regimen along with some vitamin D.
5) Best PNW product?
MC: The best PNW product I've come across thus far is, hands down, anything from a company called Sweet Pea and Boy. It's a clothing company and I am a sucker for a cute hat. Also, saltwater taffy.
6) Favorite wellness activity?
MC: My favorite wellness activity...hmmm...I have so many. Probably cooking. :) Also hiking, trail running and kayaking.
7) What’s the one thing anyone who visits must see or do?
MC: Anyone who visits absolutely MUST make the trek up to the top of Crystal Mountain (or gondola up) to have lunch and take in the vast beauty of Mt. Baker and Mt. Rainier. Also...High Rock is an amazing hike that shouldn't be missed. If it's the right time of year the Washington State Fair is huge and so much fun!
