Noah Clark

For the 124th week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on another influential individual from the PNW. Noah Clark is a combat medic, father, and Washington native with over 15 years in the medical field.

4EVRGRN: Hey, NC! Tell us a little about yourselves.

NC: Hey there! Thank you for having me! I am a PNW native who was in the first graduating class of Tacoma’s SOTA. Married for 16 years and I have three children. Outside of working in medical laboratories and hospitals in WA. I joined in the Army 12.5 years ago with the primary job of Combat Medic. I’ve been in the medical field for over 15 years as well as specializing in fitness, resiliency, and austere medical treatment and evacuation operations training. I spent the last four years stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord. 

What has martial arts training helped prepare you for that you didn’t expect?

NC: I had no idea my martial arts training both and out of the Army would prepare me to become a mentor and coach to youth as well as a staunch advocate for equal opportunity and sexual assault and harassment prevention. 

Favorite family activity in the PNW?

NC: My favorite family activity in the PNW is dash point state park which I’ve been hanging out at since I was young. 

Best meal in the PNW?

NC: The best meal in the PNW probably a tie between crab Rangoon from Salty’s or Dick’s Burgers.

What do you miss most when stationed outside the PNW?

NC: What I miss most when I’ve not been stationed at JBLM is Mt Rainier. The view and the colors are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. 

What makes PNW military culture unique?

NC: PNW military culture has a unique mixed of multiple DOD services due to the sheer amount of bases in the PNW. The likelihood of meeting and befriending or working alongside every branch is higher I think than anywhere else. 

Wildest PNW experience?

NC: Wildest PNW experience, would have to be open water scuba diving. The sheer amount of aquatic life per square foot is some the highest in the globe and the animal life ranges from the smallest crustaceans and fish to giant pacific octopus and full blown whales.  

Favorite place to escape in the PNW?

NC: Climbing to Camp Muir with my wife. It’s so steep you can make it back to the parking lot in 1/8 the time it takes you to climb up to the camp. As well as the last few miles up are snow peaks which means you can walk up but sled down which is incredible.
