RUBEN Cortez

For the 8th week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on Master Barber, Entrepreneur, Father and Husband, Ruben Cortez.

4EVRGRN: Hey Ruben, tell us a little about yourself.

RC: I am a family man and a business owner who is constantly involved in the community as well as mentoring the youth. When I’m not cutting hair or in the barbershop I am doing community events or coaching and mentoring the youth. I have been cutting hair for over 7yrs now and love every moment of it, the flexibility that it creates for my family, all the way down to the networking aspect. But most importantly the relationships you built with your clients..you gain lifetime friends and family. Outside of work I enjoy spending those moments with my wife and six kids

Here is how Ruben answered our 7 questions...

4EG: One thing you want the world to know about the PNW?

RC: Its beautiful place all around, I believe everyone should visit or vacation here at least once. It also is one big melting pot of people from all over! But most importantly my favorite is the amount of talent in all areas that is here and goes unnoticed.

4EG: Favorite random PNW fact?

RC: Big foot does exist and is out there! Lol jk, Lake Chelan being one of the deepest and longest lakes in the world also one of my favorite getaways.

4EG: One thing every PNWer does that you refuse to do? 

RC: Off-Roading I’m not a big fan of getting the Tahoe that dirty haha everything else I’m open-minded to and willing to try.  

4EG: Favorite local artist (Music/Painter?) 

RC: There are a lot, I don’t like this topic because there are many to name. Like I said before there is a lot of talent out here that goes unnoticed especially in the music industry.

4EG: What do you miss most when you’re outside the PNW? 

RC: The fresh air, you don’t realize how great it is until you leave. Lol I miss the scenery as well sadly being from California I have grown to love the trees,lakes,mountains. It’s beautiful.

4EG: Favorite PNW activity? 

RC: Camping and hiking there is nothing like getting away from it all and your phone not working. It sucks when you return back and it doesn’t stop going off but I guess that’s a good thing to have. But that’s the point it’s the escape from it all and spending it with your loved ones.

4EG: Best local product? 

RC: 4EVRGRN of course, my man Kev pours his heart into everything he does from his family to his music all the way down to his clothing line. Everything he does is with passion and full dedication.
