Tabitha Kraack

For the 62nd week of "7 QUESTION SUNDAY" we shine the spotlight on another influential individual from the PNW. Tabitha Kraack is an avid outdoors fan, classic PNW seafood lover, and a big time PNW roamer!

4EVRGRN: Hey, TK! Tell us a little about yourself.

TK: I was raised in Harrison, Idaho on the south end of Lake Coeur d’ Alene. Moved to Montana for college then worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs all over Washington, Idaho, and Montana. I am now the executive director for the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation. I love spending time with family & friends. My boyfriend and I recently got a sprinter van and building it into a camper. We love traveling all over the country especially national parks. My hobbies are hiking, trail running, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, Paddle Boarding, and giving back to my Community. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere but the PNW.

Here’s how tabitha answered our 7 questions:

4EG: What is the best part of van life in the PNW?

TK: Where do I even start on this?  The convenience of traveling anywhere in the PNW. we can go from sleeping to jumping into the driver’s seat and be off in minutes. We also love that we can stop anywhere and camp. My favorite thing is that every morning the view from my "front door" is beautiful, unique, and different. If you are thinking about doing the van life .. DO IT.

4EG: Where is your favorite place to escape in the PNW?

TK: My favorite place would be the Oregon coast OR the Enchantments in the Leavenworth.

4EG: Best meal in the PNW?

TK: This is a hard one. I am from Coeur d'Alene and we have so many amazing restaurants for a smaller community. My go to is Garnet for breakfast, Bluebird for Lunch/Dinner, and Glided Unicorn in Spokane, WA for a great date night spot. If I am on the Oregon coast, I ALWAYS stop at MO's for the Clam Chowder. I am an oyster fan, so I go to Oregon Oyster Farm in Newport, Oregon.

4EG: What inspired Keeping Tabs with Tabitha?

TK: Actually, COVID inspired me to start the project.  I have always wanted to do something like this but gave myself the excuse " I don't have enough time," or " I am too busy”. I found some extra time and started a video project one video interview a day for 60 days. After I finished it up, I realized how much I loved it and looked forward to these interviews. SO, I started a podcast called Keepin' Tabs with Tabitha. I now interview people from every walk of life.

4EG: Best PNW product?

TK: I love Wild June Co. for all my beauty, skin, and best natural deodorant. Leather Bird & Ethereal Native for earrings.

4EG: Who is the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation?

TK: So I am the executive director for the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation. I raise money and maintain the beautiful North Idaho Centennial Trail. It is 23 miles of paved trail that runs through North Idaho. It starts at the Idaho/Washington State line and goes to Higgins Point on the east side of the lake on Lake Coeur d’Alene. We are a nonprofit, so we rely on our community and fundraisers to take care of this world class trail. We are working on many projects that will connect to many other trails in the PNW.

4EG: What’s the one thing anyone who visits must see or do?

TK: North Idaho Centennial Trail in North Idaho. :)  But if you are visiting, I say visit any mountain lake and you will NOT be disappointed.
